The Dark Side of Your Emotional Needs – Mind and Body

“The human body experiences a powerful gravitational pull in the direction of hope. That is why the patient’s hopes are the physician’s secret weapon. They are the hidden ingredients in any prescription.” – Norman Cousins

Your body matters, and so does your mind, because they’re the same matter. Your emotions directly affect your body, and it goes the other way too. Mental and physical health cannot be disentangled.

Each and every one of us has a natural current running through us called the ultradian rhythm. Every 90 to 120 minutes we shift from left-brain dominance to right-brain. The shift takes about 20 minutes, and it usually makes us feel a little entranced or day-dreamy.

It’s during this shift that the immune system does its upkeep, the brain incorporates new learning, and the gut digests and absorbs nutrients. It’s little wonder that when we continue to swim against the tides of this natural rhythm we start to feel broken and emotional.

Sure, you can refuse to listen to your physical needs for a while, override them for a bit… but do it for long enough and you’ll come to feel depleted on every level.

Hypnotizing someone is often a case of just letting the sails catch the breeze of this warm and wonderful natural shift in physical and mental focus.

People increasingly treat themselves as machines. We work through lunch, sleep too little, eat junk on the run, skip the gym, and prop up our flagging bodies with ‘energy drinks’.

But neglecting proper nutrition, sleep, rest, and exercise long term leads to psychological problems and stress-induced illness, and not just on the individual level. In unhealthy populations, collective emotions run riot. And that can lead us down some dark paths.

With too little exposure to natural light, poor nutrition, and scant exercise we start to feel second-rate… we become weak and sick in mind and body.

And what is good for the body is good for the mind. Having a terrible diet (or eating foods your body is intolerant of) can make you feel depressed and anxious. Conversely, physical exercise, even a 30 minute walk is protective against anxiety and a wonderful mood enhancer, especially when done outdoors in nature.

It’s a cliché to talk about ‘self-medicating’. But people do. Whether through comfort eating, smoking, alcohol, or barbiturates, or cannabis, it’s a common way to ‘switch off’, forget about the day and absorb oneself in the moment.

But self-medication is always accompanied by self-delusion – convincing ourselves, consciously or unconsciously, that the ‘medication’ has few side effects, or that somehow we can cheat the future.

Cliché it may be, but ‘self-medication’ is a fine analogy. Indeed, it’s the side effects that are the problem. Side effects that can make it harder for people to meet their actual physical and emotional needs.

When we seek in the long term to provide ourselves with energy through coffee instead of rest, to distract ourselves from problems through the oblivion of drugs, or to resort to any form of self-harm rather than actually working to solve our problems, then the attempted ‘solution’ becomes the enemy – not the comforting or encouraging ‘friend’ it might masquerade as.

Listen and you will hear…

We all need to work at being attuned to our bodies. If we don’t, we can lose the capacity to interpret the signals from our bodies. We need to listen to our bodies – always. What is it you actually need?

STRESS CRISIS Where does it Originate?

Stress happens when we are not meeting our basic primal emotional needs, and it builds more and more as we worry about not meeting those needs. Stress is merely a signal of ‘thirst’ or ‘hunger’ on the emotional level.

Relationship breakups, job loss, illness, bereavement, poverty, being bullied or threatened, the residual effects of unresolved trauma and any other stressors all have the potential to precipitate a crisis. Even boredom is a type of stress, signalling that our innate needs for challenge or excitement are not being met.

But other stress signals include fear, depression and anger. Strong unremitting emotion leads to an overactive imagination that can conjure very real fears or ideas about the self – ideas that can start to feel more real than life itself.

This happens partly through disrupted sleep and partly through stress’s effects on how the brain normally works to question and modify the imagination.

When someone is in crisis they will invariably have come to believe stuff that may seem bizarre, even to their normal self. This is called ‘trance logic’ and can happen to many people in crisis, not just those prone to psychosis. This explains the scary changes in character of those in crisis.

Often a person veering toward crisis will not have strong enough self-objectivity (because of the distorting effects of high emotion) to realize they need a break, to make the effort to talk to someone about what they’re going through, or to identify what needs to happen to help them out of the crisis.

And unless someone in their community sees the warning signs and takes steps to help, that person may tumble into crisis after crisis.

Emotions fuel beliefs, and until the emotions are dealt with, the beliefs or delusions will tend to remain fixed.

The human body communicates directly to us any imbalances with sensations we have learned to call ‘symptoms’. The word ‘symptom’ comes from an ancient Greek word simply meaning a ‘happening’. So symptoms are simply happenings or messages that command our attention, requiring us to first listen to them, and then to change our ways or unconscious ‘patterns’ if we are to avoid further discomfort, misery and pain.

Many times the pain we feel in our bodies is just the symptom not the source of the problem which is why many conventional forms of medication and therapy are not working. The good news is acute trauma and pain can be treated… you can break free of the cage trauma and acute pain has you trapped in.

Hypnosis and Brain Wave States

We easily forget that we are the controllers of our reality – and that “our reality” is not made up of outside influences, but that it actually consists of our thoughts, beliefs and mindset…

Therefore, by learning about the deeper states of consciousness, you can open your unconscious mind and create your reality at will, and with precision. To do this, the first step is to understand your different brain frequencies.

Did you know that we all have five (Beta, Alpha, Theta, Delta and Gamma), and each frequency is measured in cycles per second (Hz) and has its own set of characteristics representing a specific level of brain activity and a unique state of consciousness?

1) Beta (12-40Hz) – The Waking Consciousness and Reasoning Wave

Beta brain waves are associated with normal waking consciousness and a heightened state of alertness, logic and critical reasoning, indicating a strongly engaged mind. The Beta brainwave state is where we focus, learn, create, study, memorize, write and function in our day to day lives. A person in active conversation, playing sports or making a presentation would be in a Beta state.

While Beta brain waves are important for effective functioning throughout the day, they also can translate into stress, anxiety and restlessness.

Low Beta is associated with concentration and alertness and higher levels of Beta activity are associated with stress, anxiety and fight or flight reactions. Lack of low beta activity is associated with disorders such as depression, ADD, addiction, OCD and other anxiety disorders.

The voice of Beta can be described as being that nagging little inner critic, that little voice that talks to you… it’s not you, you know… because if it was you… then who is listening to it? And since the majority of adults operate at Beta, it’s little wonder that stress is today’s most common health problem.

2) Alpha (8-12Hz) – The Deep Relaxation Wave

Alpha brain waves represent a state of relaxed mental awareness or reflection and are present in deep relaxation and usually when the eyes are closed and are associated with pre-sleep and pre-waking drowsiness.

Alpha brain waves normally occur when you are slipping into a lovely daydream, during light meditation or when in a light hypnosis state. It is an excellent time to program the mind for success and it also heightens your imagination, visualization, memory, learning and concentration.

It is the gateway to your subconscious mind and lies at the base of your conscious awareness. The voice of Alpha is your intuition, which becomes clearer and more profound the closer you get to 7.5Hz.

Alpha brainwaves are associated with an effortless state of consciousness. Watching television can induce your mind to slip from Beta to the Alpha state, and children tend to play in Alpha. Serotonin release occurs in the Alpha brain wave state, at about 10 Hz.

3) Theta (4-8Hz) – The Deep Meditation and Sleeping Wave

Theta brainwaves are the second slowest brainwave activity and are present during deep meditation, deep hypnosis, and light sleep, including the all-important REM dream state. It is the realm of your unconsciousness mind and is normally only experienced momentarily as you drift off to sleep from Alpha and wake from deep sleep (from Delta).

It is said that a sense of deep spiritual connection and unity with the universe can be experienced at Theta. Your mind’s most deep-seated programs are at Theta and it is where you experience vivid visualizations, great inspiration, profound creativity and exceptional insight. Unlike your other brain waves, the elusive voice of Theta is a silent voice.

It is at the Alpha-Theta border, from 7Hz to 8Hz, where the optimal range for visualization, mind programming and using the creative power of your mind begins. It’s the mental state which you consciously create your reality. At this frequency, you are conscious of your surroundings however your body is in deep relaxation.

Many adults only attain the Theta brainwave state in their sleep or in deep hypnosis, and cannot seem to reach or sustain the Theta state when they are awake. Interestingly, the planet Earth resonates at a Theta frequency of 7.83 Hz, a frequency known as Schumann Resonances.

Research has proven thirty minutes a day of Theta meditation can dramatically improve a person’s overall health and well-being.

4) Delta (0-4Hz) – The Deep Sleep Wave

Delta brainwaves are the slowest in frequency and represent a state of deep dreamless sleep. The Delta frequency is the slowest of the frequencies and the slowest brainwave activity. It is experienced in deep, dreamless sleep and in very deep, transcendental meditation where awareness is fully detached.

Among many things, deep sleep is important for the healing process – as it’s linked with deep healing and regeneration. Hence, not having enough deep sleep is detrimental to your health in more ways than one.

5) Gamma (above 40Hz) – The Insight Wave

This range is the most recently discovered and is the fastest frequency at above 40Hz. Research has indicated at moments when bursts of insight or high-level information processing occur, there are corresponding increases in brain activity in the Gamma range.

Gamma waves are the brain’s optimal frequency associated with increased compassion, optimal brain function, awareness of reality and increased mental abilities. Though more rapid than beta waves, gamma brainwaves have virtually unnoticeable amplitude and can be found in every part of the brain. Gamma waves serve as a binding mechanism between all parts of the brain and help to improve brain function and perception.

Giving Up the Struggle in Your Life!

-from the Desk of Dr Robert Anthony

Deliberate Creation is about learning how to give up the struggle. This is why we will talk about it frequently. Struggle is trying to rearrange the world so that it aligns with the way you think it should be. It is the greatest source of unhappiness in our world today. It happens when you focus on what you perceive you don’t have, instead of embracing what you do have.

The need to struggle and effort to get what we want is an illusion and like all other illusions (or assumptions), by their very nature, they keep us from seeing the truth that is right before us.

We live in a time of striking contrasts. There is tremendous prosperity and at the same time there is also tremendous poverty. Why is this so? The reason is that we (meaning all of us on this planet) must change our paradigm and see abundance as a mindset. Abundance is waking up to the reality that you are already the person you yearn to become and that you already have everything you need.

The denial or more accurately the resistance to your true nature is what keeps you struggling. Abundance is about lovingly accepting

WHO and WHERE you are IN THIS MOMENT.

It is focusing on all that you have and not losing yourself in all that you don’t have. In the end, it is this thought that allows us to live in the flow of unstoppable riches in every area of our lives.

Today will bring you a new awareness, a lesson or a manifestation that you are making progress – IF YOU LOOK FOR IT! No matter how large or small, please record it in your Evidence Journal. It will only take a few moments and will AUTOMATICALLY put you in the Flow.

QUANTUM PHYSICS SUCCESS SECRETS REVEALED

QUANTUM SUCCESS SECRETS REVEALED

Quantum physics is a subject that goes over most people’s heads, unless of course you’re someone who has a penchant for complex scientific theories. So it’s no surprise that not a lot of people are aware of the fact that quantum physics can have a significant impact on a person’s life. And even those who are at least familiar with the basics of quantum physics (like I am) are often dubious by the legitimacy of such claims.

When I heard about Greg & Alvin’s latest offering – Quantum Success Secrets – and their claims of how one could apply quantum physics concepts to improve their lives, I thought they were finally out of their minds. No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t see the link between quantum physics and how I could, say, bump up my income threefold.

But I’ve known Greg for some time now; I know the kinds of products he comes up with and his track record with me thus far has been pretty good. So I dismissed his claims as one of his unique marketing strategies (Greg’s known to be quite dramatic in his pitches), gave him benefit of the doubt, and checked out Quantum Success Secrets.

So is Quantum Success Secrets really as good as Greg & Alvin claim it to be?

http://innerhealthblog.com/goto/QuantumSuccessSecrets.html

I’ll be frank with you: You might think Quantum Success Secrets is a scam, especially if you’re expecting a quick fix to all of life’s problems. Quantum Success Secrets isn’t so much a “miracle cure” as it is a guidebook that teaches you how to attain the “Quantum Mind”. The “Quantum Mind”, as Greg & Alvin put it, is a state of mind that is conducive for the Law of Attraction and the “Universal forces” to work in your favor.

In essence, they reveal the secrets to achieving better control over your life, using Law of Attraction techniques that, coincidentally, are similar to quantum physics theories. While I suspect that Greg may have been taking “artistic license” with certain quantum physics theories to sensationalize his latest offering to a degree, I have to say that everything taught within the pages of Quantum Success Secrets is considerably solid.

For example, in the first chapter, Greg & Alvin illustrates the differences between the normal, human mind, and the Quantum Mind. They explain how the human mind works, and the techniques one may be able to use to break through the various barriers that keep the human mind from “evolving” into the Quantum state of mind.

Citing the works of several notable individuals in the field of self improvement, Greg & Alvin convey their understanding of how the Quantum philosophy, and how everyone – regardless of their situation, background, or intelligence – can make the philosophy work for them, in clear, concise explanations that any average Joe would understand quite easily.

http://innerhealthblog.com/goto/QuantumSuccessSecrets.html

They also teach readers how to tap into the “Quantum will” that gets them achieving more than they’ve ever thought possible. They even use current cultural references to get their points across, so the book comes across as refreshingly relatable… at least compared to some of other similarly themed books I’ve come across recently.

Now, you’re probably thinking that theory is all well and good, but will the book bring quantifiable benefits to your life?

The answer to that is a simple, resounding, yes. If you’ve managed to get a complete grasp of the techniques taught within the pages of Quantum Success Secrets, you will have learned how to take full control of your life, regardless of the situations you’ll face as you continue on your journey in life.

As they themselves says in the book, the success you’ll enjoy won’t be immediate; you can’t apply the techniques you’ve learned for merely a month and expect a lifetime of good things to come falling into your lap. The key here is patience, as you’ll need the discipline of mind to follow through his teachings and achieve for yourself Quantum Success in your life.

160x600_1  ONE-HOUR MEDITATION IN 12-MINUTES

Imagine been able to do a one-hour advanced meditation in 12-minutes… not possible?

Think again! The Zen12 Meditation system uses specially crafted MP3’s that do just that… one hour of  advanced meditation in 12-minutes. The real beauty of these meditation sessions is all you have to do is  pop on the headphones, close your eyes, and let Zen12 do the rest… in the park, in the forest, at the  beach, at the office or flying in a plane… the choices are endless.

And right now you can try one of the MP3’s for free here: http://www.zen12.com/homepage/a/Synergy

Did you know that meditation is scientifically-proven to bring a multitude of powerful benefits to those  that practice it? Is your mind so full of metal chatter? Do you find yourself restless, constantly fidgeting  or twitching? Have you have tried meditation before and have been unable to get the results you desire or you were unaware of the myriad of benefits of meditation? Has finding time to do it been an issue for you?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above then you owe it to yourself and your well being to try the Zen12 system. Click here http://www.zen12.com/homepage/a/Synergy and try out the free session.

Look at some of the tried and proven benefits that can be attained through meditation:

  • Eliminate stress, worry and anxiety and become the master of your emotions
  • Stop the constant chatter in your brain so you can think clearly and precisely
  • Stimulate your creativity and elevate your focusing power during study projects
  • Increase your overall health by bringing balance to your body
  • Achieve greater relaxation and enhance your mood.

180x150_2

These results can be attained by using a system known as Meditation and Brain Wave  Entrainment and can be practised anywhere at any time but the key is to have minimal  distraction and to use headphones.

These special recordings can include a mix of music and sound effects overlaid above special ‘brainwave’ audio that makes meditation more likely. This audio enables brainwave entrainment to take place, where the frequency of sounds and an individual’s brainwaves are encouraged to sync up with each other. For the purposes of meditation, the idea would be to stimulate alpha brainwave activity in the 8-13 Hertz region, a state of relaxed and effortless alertness. This helps achieve deeper results, quicker.

Zen12 gives you a full hour’s worth of deep meditation, all in just 12 minutes. It uses “brainwave sounds” to speed up the process, and it’s genuinely unlike anything you’ve experienced before.
