Hypnosis and Brain Wave States

We easily forget that we are the controllers of our reality – and that “our reality” is not made up of outside influences, but that it actually consists of our thoughts, beliefs and mindset…

Therefore, by learning about the deeper states of consciousness, you can open your unconscious mind and create your reality at will, and with precision. To do this, the first step is to understand your different brain frequencies.

Did you know that we all have five (Beta, Alpha, Theta, Delta and Gamma), and each frequency is measured in cycles per second (Hz) and has its own set of characteristics representing a specific level of brain activity and a unique state of consciousness?

1) Beta (12-40Hz) – The Waking Consciousness and Reasoning Wave

Beta brain waves are associated with normal waking consciousness and a heightened state of alertness, logic and critical reasoning, indicating a strongly engaged mind. The Beta brainwave state is where we focus, learn, create, study, memorize, write and function in our day to day lives. A person in active conversation, playing sports or making a presentation would be in a Beta state.

While Beta brain waves are important for effective functioning throughout the day, they also can translate into stress, anxiety and restlessness.

Low Beta is associated with concentration and alertness and higher levels of Beta activity are associated with stress, anxiety and fight or flight reactions. Lack of low beta activity is associated with disorders such as depression, ADD, addiction, OCD and other anxiety disorders.

The voice of Beta can be described as being that nagging little inner critic, that little voice that talks to you… it’s not you, you know… because if it was you… then who is listening to it? And since the majority of adults operate at Beta, it’s little wonder that stress is today’s most common health problem.

2) Alpha (8-12Hz) – The Deep Relaxation Wave

Alpha brain waves represent a state of relaxed mental awareness or reflection and are present in deep relaxation and usually when the eyes are closed and are associated with pre-sleep and pre-waking drowsiness.

Alpha brain waves normally occur when you are slipping into a lovely daydream, during light meditation or when in a light hypnosis state. It is an excellent time to program the mind for success and it also heightens your imagination, visualization, memory, learning and concentration.

It is the gateway to your subconscious mind and lies at the base of your conscious awareness. The voice of Alpha is your intuition, which becomes clearer and more profound the closer you get to 7.5Hz.

Alpha brainwaves are associated with an effortless state of consciousness. Watching television can induce your mind to slip from Beta to the Alpha state, and children tend to play in Alpha. Serotonin release occurs in the Alpha brain wave state, at about 10 Hz.

3) Theta (4-8Hz) – The Deep Meditation and Sleeping Wave

Theta brainwaves are the second slowest brainwave activity and are present during deep meditation, deep hypnosis, and light sleep, including the all-important REM dream state. It is the realm of your unconsciousness mind and is normally only experienced momentarily as you drift off to sleep from Alpha and wake from deep sleep (from Delta).

It is said that a sense of deep spiritual connection and unity with the universe can be experienced at Theta. Your mind’s most deep-seated programs are at Theta and it is where you experience vivid visualizations, great inspiration, profound creativity and exceptional insight. Unlike your other brain waves, the elusive voice of Theta is a silent voice.

It is at the Alpha-Theta border, from 7Hz to 8Hz, where the optimal range for visualization, mind programming and using the creative power of your mind begins. It’s the mental state which you consciously create your reality. At this frequency, you are conscious of your surroundings however your body is in deep relaxation.

Many adults only attain the Theta brainwave state in their sleep or in deep hypnosis, and cannot seem to reach or sustain the Theta state when they are awake. Interestingly, the planet Earth resonates at a Theta frequency of 7.83 Hz, a frequency known as Schumann Resonances.

Research has proven thirty minutes a day of Theta meditation can dramatically improve a person’s overall health and well-being.

4) Delta (0-4Hz) – The Deep Sleep Wave

Delta brainwaves are the slowest in frequency and represent a state of deep dreamless sleep. The Delta frequency is the slowest of the frequencies and the slowest brainwave activity. It is experienced in deep, dreamless sleep and in very deep, transcendental meditation where awareness is fully detached.

Among many things, deep sleep is important for the healing process – as it’s linked with deep healing and regeneration. Hence, not having enough deep sleep is detrimental to your health in more ways than one.

5) Gamma (above 40Hz) – The Insight Wave

This range is the most recently discovered and is the fastest frequency at above 40Hz. Research has indicated at moments when bursts of insight or high-level information processing occur, there are corresponding increases in brain activity in the Gamma range.

Gamma waves are the brain’s optimal frequency associated with increased compassion, optimal brain function, awareness of reality and increased mental abilities. Though more rapid than beta waves, gamma brainwaves have virtually unnoticeable amplitude and can be found in every part of the brain. Gamma waves serve as a binding mechanism between all parts of the brain and help to improve brain function and perception.

MEDITATION & HYPNOSIS

From the Desk of Dr Robert Anthony:

MEDITATION & HYPNOSIS… By Far the Fastest, Most Effective Path to Success

Why is it so hard to achieve any success in life?

Because your HABITS are a thousand times more powerful than your PLANS or your WILLPOWER.

And if your plans are not coming to fruition, it simply means you have certain ingrained habits that actually KEEP you from reaching your goals.

That means just one thing: If you want to achieve your goals, don’t work on your PLANS!

Instead, spend time and effort to re-wire your HABITS!

Because here’s the reality of it all:

If you DON’T Change your Habits, then you WON’T Change your Future!

More and more people are turning to meditation and hypnosis to overcome their bad habits… with surprisingly successful results.

These days, it’s not unusual to hear about CEO’s and business tycoons who make meditation and hypnosis a top priority in their daily lives… simply because they see results.

Why does it work so well?

Here’s why: Hypnotism isn’t a magic trick. It’s a technique that’s been proven over the centuries, across different cultures, and it works by re-wiring your UNCONSCIOUS mind.

Hypnotism gets rid of those bad habits and distractions that hold you back from achieving your goals, helping you focus ONLY on the beliefs, situations, actions, and decisions that move you closer to success with every step you take.

Why are meditation and hypnosis worth a try?

Because considering the alternatives – Motivation, which requires a lifetime commitment and takes at least several months to work, and Willpower, which pits you into a losing battle with yourself – Hypnotism works almost INSTANTLY, and its positive effects last your entire life.

It’s like reformatting an old, virus-filled computer with a newer, cleaner operating system. It has the same keyboard, same mouse, same monitor, same CPU, and even the same user… but thanks to its re-wired inner workings, it gets much more work done in much less time.

That’s basically what hypnotism does to YOUR inner workings. You’re the same YOU… only now, you’ll achieve much more in much less time!

So try this right now: Get a sheet of paper, and write down your goals.

They could be your business goals, your family goals, your personal goals, and so on. Whatever they may be, write them down.
